Jacob Pescini

Jacob helps Abley’s clients become more effective and profitable with best-in-class geospatial data and solutions.

Jacob completed a Master of Science degree focusing on geography and geology at the University of Canterbury.

He began his career in Wellington at Electronic Data Systems (EDS) leading a data capture team for the data that went into Landonline, New Zealand’s electronic Survey and Title system.

He then went overseas and, while experiencing European life, worked for both Mouchel and the Westminster City Council in quality assurance, planning and auditing roles relating to the capture of street asset information.

In 2005, Jacob returned to New Zealand and took up a consultancy role with Critchlow Ltd. It was in this role that he learned the importance of communication in the delivery of successful projects across a wide range of industries. He managed Critchlow’s product training services, responsible for demonstrating and teaching both fundamental and advanced location intelligence techniques in a teaching or consulting environment to new or existing clients and colleagues.

The role naturally progressed towards marketing and business development. Jacob was responsible for growing Critchlow’s business by creating customer awareness and preference for Critchlow’s product and services portfolio. This was achieved through the implementation of a marketing platform and various customer engagement and acquisition activities. He also engaged with clients and worked with them to identify shortcomings and improve their systems and processes using location intelligence.

Helping businesses function better and achieve their goals is Jacob’s passion. He can’t wait to apply his technical expertise and outstanding communication and business development skills to his new role at Abley.
