Aini is a  transport engineer in the Strategy and Planning team. The Strategy and Planning team’s work involves transport modelling, business cases, and research.

About Aini

Aini has completed a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) degree in Natural Resources Engineering at the University of Canterbury. During her time at university, Aini was involved in several research projects. She developed an interest in urban resilience after taking a class at university on urban systems and conducting summer research project on the interdependencies within our urban systems. This interest led to her pursuing a graduate role at Abley.

Aini started at Abley as a Callaghan Innovation’s sponsored student intern conducting research on how the design of urban streets influences traffic speeds. After her internship, she continued at Abley as a graduate engineer.

Aini spent much of her life in the Maldives and developed a love for the ocean and marine life. She was a competitive swimmer and is now getting back into swimming recreationally. Scuba diving is her favourite hobby but hopes to get into free diving more in the future.
