Showcasing our expertise at the ESRI User Conference

The annual  New Zealand ESRI User Conference is a must-attend event for those immersed in the geospatial world. Set to take place in Auckland from September 25th to 27th, it promises a confluence of ideas, innovations, and insights.

While we’re sending a delegation of seven to the conference, we would like to shine a spotlight on two presentations that demonstrate the scope and depth of our work by Dale Harris and Stacy Rendall.

 Safety at rural crossroads

Presenter: Dale Harris

The unsettling rise in crashes at rural crossroads has been a cause for concern. Dale’s research has involved analysing over 1,700 rural crossroads around New Zealand. Her geospatial approach to assessing diverse intersection attributes has resulted in a valuable tool for predicting high-risk intersections. It’s a commendable piece of work that road authorities are now turning to as they aim to enhance the safety of our rural landscapes.

Tuesday, 26th, Session GIS for Transportation, 3:45 pm to 5:00 pm in Great Room 4

Decoding Complexity: Practical Problem Solving for Wicked Problems

Presenter: Stacy Rendall

Stacy’s presentation reminds us of the often-daunting challenges the technical domains throw our way. However, instead of shying away, Stacy will showcase how we can methodically deconstruct these problems. His “problem solving 101” promises to blend insightful examples and actionable strategies, teaching us to tackle sizable technical dilemmas piece by piece and then merge those solutions for a holistic approach.

Wednesday, 27th, Lightning Talks, 9:00 am to 10:00 am in The Great Room

If you’re attending the conference, keep an eye out for the Abley booth. Whether you’ve got questions spurred by our presentations or you’re in the mood for some industry chatter, our delegates are more than eager to converse.
