Welcome back to Christchurch, and to our team David Robinson

David’s previous NZ experience includes:

• 8 years developing and using travel demand models in NZ and Australia for Gabites Porter (now Stantec)
• 11 years with the Christchurch City Council, where highlights included involvement with the Southwest & Belfast Area Plans, Fendalton Rd 4 laning, Western Beflast Bypass, and Southern & Northern Motorway planning.

In 2008 David headed to Abu Dhabi in the UAE to take up a position as a Project Manager – Transport Planning for AECOM where he:

• Was survey manager for the development of the first Emirate wide travel demand model, and
• Managed transport impact studies including a 20,000 seat stadium development, and 160,000 person urban growth area of Abu Dhabi City.

In 2010, David accepted a role at the Abu Dhabi Department of Transport (now Integrated Transport Center), as a Transportation Modelling Specialist. This included:

• Managing the DoT modelling team
• Overseeing the development of IT infrastructure and 24/7 online access to the travel demand model for DoT & consultants, and
• Scoping the next travel demand model version development.

In 2013, David joined the Strategic Transportation Planning team, with some highlights including:

• Abu Dhabi Capital Region (1.7m to 3m pop by 2040) and Al Ain Region (from 735k to 1.3m pop by 2040) Multimodal Surface Transport Master Plans
• Review of the Integrated Public Transport Network business case which included metro, light rail and bus systems.
• Bus Priority Feasibility and Concept Design Study
• Micro-mobility Study
