Ann-Marie provides transport planning and design advice to create urban environments that encourage and support people to be safe, healthy and happy whilst minimising environmental impacts.
She undertakes transport research, develops best practice industry guidance, prepares transport strategies, programmes and plans, and leads travel insights initiatives to measure and manage carbon emissions from transport.
About Ann-Marie
Ann-Marie completed a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) at the University of Canterbury and became a Chartered Engineer in 2011.
She began her career in Tauranga where one of her first projects was a concept design for a new cycleway. She spent her OE in Bristol, UK where she developed an award winning travel plan for a Welsh university as well as preparing a number of transport impact assessments. This was followed by a stint in Sydney where she worked on public transport interchange access strategies and integrated transport assessments for large shopping centres and new towns.
In 2010, Ann-Marie moved home to Christchurch joining a small Abley team of seven staff. Since that time, Ann-Marie has furthered her knowledge and experience in the active modes space and she was the instigator of Abley’s award winning Travel Planning programme.
Ann-Marie is known for her pragmatic, high quality deliverables and technical leadership. She was attracted to transport engineering due to the human element and that passion has only increased throughout her career.
