Mel is the Marketing Manager at Abley. She is responsible for developing and delivering Abley’s marketing strategy, working collaboratively with business leaders to communicate and drive brand-building initiatives.
A member of the Shared Services team based in Christchurch, Mel is passionate about delivering a marketing programme that helps to build strong, enduring client relationships.
After completing a Bachelor of Commerce (Marketing) at Canterbury University, Mel worked in sales, advertising and account management in a variety of industries. This gave her an excellent platform to experience working directly with clients and better understand their needs.
A born and bred Cantabrian, Mel has lived most of her years in Christchurch, but has also worked in Wellington for a successful direct marketing organisation and in Rotorua doing tourism-focused market research.
Bringing 10 years’ marketing experience in professional services organisations, Mel joined the fast-growing Abley team in 2016. During her time at Abley, she has managed a re-brand and new website and is responsible for marketing strategy and communications, sponsorships, partnerships and events.
Marketing has always been Mel’s passion. She particularly enjoys the challenge of developing and implementing a client-centric strategy, working with a dynamic brand and being surrounded by an inspiring team of professionals.
Mel loves to get outdoors with friends and family, head out for a run or walk with the family dog, camping and exploring new destinations. She is a self-confessed foodie, enjoys baking with her daughter, dinner parties with friends and checking out new restaurants.
