    Associate Transportation Planner
    PG Cert BSc

Kate helps developers and local authorities assess the transport related effects of new developments, in terms of their operational and safety aspects. She provides transport advice and design from master planning stage through to detailed design.

    About Kate

Kate began her career working at Arup In New Zealand and Australia, where she focused on transport modelling and integrating transport planning with GIS. After returning home, her focus moved to project managing walking and cycling projects around Auckland.

After several years at engineering consultancies, Kate joined local government. She worked in the development planning area focusing on the review and critique of transport outcomes for new developments and subdivisions throughout Auckland. This involved planning and engineering advice from high level master planning stage through to resource consents and engineering plan approvals. Several years of assessing plans and consents has provided Kate with a sound knowledge and invaluable experience in the design of the road network for all modes of transport.

Kate enjoys working with the project team to find design solutions to get the best outcome for all transport users, particularly where the focus is encouraging active travel. Her role in Development Planning at Auckland Transport at times called for conflict resolution and effective negotiation skills were needed to navigate challenging situations between developers and Council specialists.

    How they can help

Contact Kate if you need a transport assessment for a new development of any type or scale, whether it be to prepare for a pre-app meeting with Council or to support a Resource Consent application. Kate can also assist local Councils with the transport review of Resource Consent applications.
