Shane Ingley

Shane is a Principal Transportation Engineer in Abley’s Land Development team.  He helps developers to plan and design the transport aspects of their developments, and he helps Councils provide feedback and make decisions for resource consents. Since early 2018 Shane has been the primary transport consultant for Auckland Council’s North Shore service area. He also provides transport planning and engineering advice for the designation and development of new schools.

About Shane

Shane previously gained a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) and subsequently gained his Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) from the University of Auckland in 2015. He worked in customer service, leadership and coaching prior to beginning his career as a transport planning and engineering consultant with Abley in late 2015. While studying he undertook an internship analysing road condition surveys. Shane also contracts as a group fitness instructor with Les Mills. Shane enjoys using his varied experience to help understand the needs of a project in a holistic way as well as providing technical advice.

As well as teaching group fitness classes, Shane is also a walking enthusiast. He enjoys advocating for the physical and mental health benefits associated with walking as a mode of transport. This is particularly important for schools, for which having safe footpaths and crossing facilities are crucial to ensure young people can walk (or bike) to school and experience the enjoyment of an active start and end to the day.
