Ria Chapman

Ria is the Innovation Manager at Abley. Driven to help Abley achieve the greatest impact possible, she works with our transport and spatial specialists to commercialise new ideas.

About Ria

Ria did her doctorate in Medicine at Cardiff University and holds a Master of Biology from the University of Bath.

She has worked as an Innovation Specialist for 10 years in New Zealand and the UK. Her experience spans industry, research organisations and government with projects ranging from life sciences to engineering. She thrives in managing multi-partner programmes and works hard to understand stakeholder needs and create a cooperative environment.

Ria joined Abley in February 2022 and is responsible for Abley’s innovation process, managing the leap from idea generation to commercialisation.

Outside of work, Ria loves getting outside and exploring, whether it’s bike packing, tramping or open water swimming.
