Martin leads our Strategy and Policy team which incorporates our Business Case writing, Public Transport, Modelling and Economics teams.
About Martin
Martin has developed a long and varied career built around leading various transportation teams in New Zealand and the UK. His strengths typically and consistently involve team and company leadership, client relationships, business development, mentoring and project management.
Martin began his career in 1995 working for a UK local authority before moving to the consultancy side in 2000. He has always sought to add new skills at every opportunity and believes strongly in the mentor/mentee approach to learning and development.
Following his move to New Zealand in 2010 he has gained a wealth of experience both in Auckland and across New Zealand, predominately leading civil design teams and more recently moving into the strategy and policy arena. He has worked on a variety of transport design projects, ranging from local improvement projects for Auckland Transport through to major design management roles on the Waterview Tunnel project and, more recently, project management of Abley’s lead consortium role on Let’s Get Wellington Moving.
Martin values clear and honest communication and believes this is a core principle of long term and successful relationships and project delivery. He strives to empower and encourages those around him to make informed decisions whilst providing support and leadership across the business.
