This includes subdivision and land use consent applications, designations, plan changes, as well as school due diligence/site selection and design. Logan also undertakes transportation reviews of consent applications on behalf of local authorities to help them understand and evaluate the transport effects arising from land development proposals.

Logan undertakes work throughout New Zealand however being based in Dunedin he has enabled Abley to effectively service to the wider Otago and Southland regions, including Central Otago, Queenstown and Invercargill.

About Logan

Logan gained a Bachelor of Arts (majoring in Geography) in 2015 and subsequently a Master of Planning degree (MPlan) from the University of Otago in 2017. As part of his MPlan, Logan prepared a transportation planning-focused thesis, which concentrated on developing a set of policy recommendations to facilitate uptake of public transport to school. This research then formed the basis of further analysis and eventual publication in the Journal of Transport and Health.

He began his professional career working for the Dunedin City Council’s (DCC) transport department, in roles spanning from graduate through to senior level. Logan gained experience providing expert transportation advice on private development proposals. This work included experience acting as an expert witness in many council hearings and the Environment Court. He has an in-depth understanding of resource management processes and strategic transportation planning.

Logan’s practical approach to problem solving results in appropriately balanced outcomes for clients and road controlling authorities. Logan uses his experience from his time in the public sector to engage in positive, constructive conversations which ensures a smooth approach to the land development process.
