Jacob Pescini 

Jacob helps Abley’s clients solve their transport challenges through the application of best-in-class transport and traffic data products and solutions. 

About Jacob

Jacob completed a Master of Science degree focusing on geography and geology at the University of Canterbury. 

He began his career in Wellington at Electronic Data Systems (EDS) leading a data capture team for the data that went into Landonline, New Zealand’s electronic Survey and Title system. 

He then went overseas and, while experiencing European life, worked for both Mouchel and the Westminster City Council in quality assurance, planning and auditing roles relating to the capture of carriageway asset information. 

In 2005, Jacob returned to New Zealand and took up a consultancy role with Critchlow Ltd. It was in this role that he learned the importance of communication in the delivery of successful projects across a wide range of industries. He managed Critchlow’s product training services, responsible for demonstrating location intelligence techniques and skills to new or existing clients and colleagues. 

The role naturally progressed towards marketing and business development. Jacob was responsible for growing Critchlow’s business by creating customer awareness and preference for Critchlow’s product and services portfolio. He also engaged with clients and worked with them to identify shortcomings and improve their systems and processes using location intelligence solutions. 

Helping organizations function better and achieve their goals is Jacob’s passion. In 2021, Jacob joined Abley relishing the opportunity to extend his commercial, marketing and business development experience to support Abley’s clients.   

Outside of work, Jacob enjoys his families various outdoor focused activities, cycling with the FFC racing team, and the occasional trail run.
