Abley partners with Gfactor’s CoDriVR learner driving simulator

Written by Abley | Apr 2024

The Australasian Road Safety Conference being held in Christchurch NZ from 28-30 September 2022, is the premier event for road safety specialists across APAC.

As Platinum sponsors for this conference, Abley has chosen to partner with Gfactor, to showcase their CoDriVR virtual reality learner driver simulator at our exhibition booth.

Gfactor and Abley share similar beliefs when it comes to road safety, in the way that we both recognise that “Road to Zero” can only be achieved through multiple layers of protection.

Learning to drive in a safe environment

Gfactor ensures that young drivers get the opportunity to learn to drive in a safe environment where, risks are minimised, and mistakes are forgiven.  This ensures new drivers have the experience of being on the road without endangering themselves or others.

We also both recognise that technology and data are key factors in modern transport planning and road safety practices.  Abley embraces location technology, delivering smart solutions for our clients that are based on the most current and up to data information possible. Our partnerships with HERE Technologies and TomTom provide road safety solutions that make a real difference to the practitioner. Gfactor use digital data and digital delivery, utilising the very latest in virtual reality headsets combined with their own custom built simulator platform.

Understanding the risks as drivers, without emitting carbon emissions…

Both Abley and Gfactor have embraced the need to approach road safety from a sustainability perspective and actively work to reduce our reliance on private vehicles.  CoDriVR allows learners to learn virtually, reducing the emissions produced by private vehicles. While Abley have developed CarbonWise, a tool to help organisations measure their carbon emissions from commuting.

If you are attending the Australasian Road Safety Conference, make sure you visit our team at the Abley booth and have a go in the VR simulator. It will help to visualise how digital technology can help achieve NZ’s “Road to Zero” strategy, whilst also a being educational and a fun way to test your driving skills and understand the risks on our roads as a driver.
