Ruby is a Senior Transportation Engineer in Abley’s Safe Systems team.
Ruby works across a range of areas but mostly road safety and transport planning.
In the safe systems team, Ruby helps to make New Zealand roads safer by allocating and prioritising road safety projects and interventions.
She also provides transport planning and engineering advice for resource consenting purposes which include participating at Hearings as the expert witness. Ruby also assist Council to assist them by reviewing resource consent applications.
Ruby completed her Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) from the University of Auckland and her Masters at the Technical University of Munich in Germany.
She began her career at Abley as a Graduate in the Christchurch office and moved back to Auckland when the Auckland office opened. This enabled her to be exposed to work from all across New Zealand and gained valuable experience working with local and regional authorities and private developers in both the North and the South islands.
Ruby has an in-depth knowledge of the legislative and planning framework, which she has used to provide expert transport planning and design advice to private developers and provided support for resource consent reviews for many Councils.
Ruby is also experienced in providing strategic road safety analysis and technical geospatial information to inform road safety programme development.
Ruby enjoys being involved in complex projects that require an understanding of the big picture. She values the journey as much as she values the result whether it is work-related or out exploring the mountains.
