    About Mark

    Mark completed his degree in Information Technology and commenced his career in Hamilton, working with the Waikato Regional Council’s biosecurity team, creating and analysing geospatial information and developing applications for use by staff.

    Setting out to explore the world, Mark landed in England working for Esri (UK).  In his time there, Mark led a variety of innovative geospatial projects, from covert tracking solutions to ground-breaking online/offline mobile mapping applications.

    Moving back to New Zealand, Mark worked on a variety of high-profile projects as a project manager for New Zealand’s Esri distributor.  A move to Tauranga allowed him to take on a range of geospatial roles in the city and for regional councils.

    Seeking further challenge, Mark moved back into consultancy, supplying spatial solutions across a variety of industries, before being seconded to Singapore to deliver a 3D/2D digital twin location intelligence platform.  On returning to New Zealand, Mark worked for New Zealand’s largest agricultural nutrient management company to deliver the mapping components of a novel digital platform. He joined Abley in 2020.

    Mark enjoys variety in life, from the thrill of rapidly descending steep hills on mountain bikes to the satisfaction of connecting with people to deliver innovative business solutions.   Mark has a collaborative and pragmatic approach to business problems. He likes to tackle issues with design-led thinking, challenging assumptions, and redefining problems to create data-driven solutions.
